REQUEST FOR BIDS

Project needs

The City of Nicholson is seeking bids for a sprinkler system for an event space that is approximately 51’ x 62’. A main line will be brought from the closest hydrant to the area that will house the riser.

Project History

The City of Nicholson was given Benton Elementary School in 2017.  Since that time the city has moved our city hall into the front office of the school and is working to repurpose the space throughout the location.  The space where the sprinkler system will be installed was once a school lunchroom, and now will be an event space known as Benton Hall.  Benton Hall will be rented out for private events, as well as city events. The space is approximately 51ft. x 62 ft. in size.

The bid will require a dedicated 6” main from the hydrant outside of the parking lot, to the building. The distance for that is approximately 292 feet.  There is a 6” main at the hydrant. The results of the Water Flow Test were as follows:

Static Pressure-60

Residual-50

Pitot-10

Total Flow Test-531
