Attending: Mayor Pro tem- Dusty Durst, Council Members – Thomas Gary, Mike Barfield, Lamar Watkins, Debbie Fontaine-City Clerk – Those not present: Sherry Lewis -Mainstreet News – City Attorney-Jody Campbell, Mayor-Jan Webster


-Pledge of Allegiance – All
-Minutes: Thomas motioned to approve August 2, 2021 Council Meeting Minutes as presented. Mike questioned the statement in minutes regarding the mayor’s comments on “Council Members Pay” and asked that the statement “personal feelings” regarding Jan’s comments be struck from the minutes. The minutes were amended to state “she voiced her opposition in regards to such”. Thomas’s motion did not carry.
Lamar motioned to approve the August 2, 2021 Council Meeting Minutes as amended; Thomas seconded. All were in favor; Motion Approved.
-Financials: Mike motioned to approve August 2021 financials, Thomas seconded. All were in favor. Motion was approved.

NEW BUSINESS: NA

OLD BUSINESS:
-Municode Ordinance – Thomas motioned to approve the adoption and enactment of a new code (through Municode) for the City of Nicholson Georgia; providing for the repeal of certain ordinances.
Lamar seconded. All were in favor; Motion Approved.

MAYORS REPORT: (Mayor Pro Tem)
• The Festival and Pageant reports will be discussed at the next work session.
• Veterans Day Celebration Meeting will be September 28th at 6:00PM.

LIBRARIANS REPORT: Per Library Manager
• Made $260 from cake walk and $818 for the quilt. This money goes to the Friends of the Nicholson Library.
• The beginning of next year, I believe we will need at least one more hot spot. Lately we can’t keep the items in the library.
• Sherri is going to read at Candy Castle every Monday.
• We are starting an Adult Reading Group. The first meeting is on Thursday Sept 16 at 1:30 PM. The first book we are reading is The Alice Network.
• We are gearing up for Halloween and Christmas activities.
